As some of you well know, I've been playing MMOs since UO. I generally gravitate toward tank or DPS classes, but with the launch of New Halas I decided to roll a Fury.  Of course these days the start of a character's journey is generally spent in solitude and that was true of Aethgar as well.

But while roaming Faydark working on harvesting skills, I stumbled on Crushbone, a place Aethgar and I had never been. I met an orc who had work for me, so in I went. Crushbone Keep was lightly defended at the entrance but it soon became apparent that I would need help (Aethgar was mentored down to 25 at the time).

Berserker Quideri (Rhis is going to kill me if I got her character name wrong) offered to come along. She took point and I handled healing duties. Wow, what a change of playstyles that was! She had to scold me constantly about running ahead, but he did make it through (once we got deeper into the Keep we both un-mentored. Her 'native' level was 35 so Aethgar then mentored down to that).

It never got really challenging… at least, we never died and I attribute that to it never being overly difficult (and of course a mentored level 25 is a lot more potent than a natural 25).

But I found myself intrigued with this healing role; it was a weird dichotomy between moments of near boredom and moments of total panic… a real roller coaster ride!

I don't think I'm ready to play healer with any but my closest, most patient friends yet; I still have tons and tons to learn and we never saw anything higher than the odd blue mob in there.  But if you're ever mentored down or playing an alt in their 30's and need a healer, and understand that I might totally screw up and get you killed… give me a shout. Laugh

You're a Fury.. sure ya didn't toss a few nukes in during those boring moments?  *hehe*

I'd be happy to join up for some bashing sometime. My Berserker, Cragsclaw , is only in his early 30s   or I am always happy to mentor down Denat or Tisi.

Cragsclaw and Catastrophy poked about in Kaladim a littel while ago but couldn't make much headway once inside the gates.  It'd be fun to have a few 30-40s go through there and liberate the old Dwarven home.

There may have been the odd nuke 'accidentally' tossed into the mix. :) I couldn't let her have ALL the fun!

Kaladim is definitely mentioned in my quest log more than once. :)  I'd be game to head in there as long as we either had a main healer (with Aethgar as secondary) or everyone was fully aware that your healer was a total noob. :)  I need to pester Rhia to make him some spell upgrades, too. All but one of his heals are still Apprentice I.

This sounds like fun! Between 30 and 50'ish, I have a 43 Monk, a 36 Paladin,  a 38 Necro who's not in the Empire (holding open our old guild), and a 59 Coercer. I play all of them so seldom it'd be an adventure seeing if they could do anything *laugh*, but the Pally could sorta backup heal, the coercer could do some crowd control, and the others would be DPS.

I did get spell upgrades from Rhia during the week, so that's good. I'm not sure what the plan is for this weekend. These days I'm just happy to get through TO the weekend. :) But maybe the stars will align at some point! Maybe as a warm-up to your Saturday night main event?

A little late coming in to this conversation, but Catastrophy overheard Kaladim and nearly pee'd herself. Lil' Cat is 37 right now and not going anywhere fast. She's a templar, so if you want a honest to goodness healer to back you up, she's throw herself into the ring.

I have the opposite problem as you – Catarya was only the second "tank" class I'd ever played and I feel like its a whirlwind when I play her. Taunting, aggro, HO's – it seems so *much* to stay on top of. Whereas healing is like slipping into old shoes. Familiar, comforting and my feet already know where the rough edges are. Tanking is like wearing clown shoes while trying to do ballet.

Another late addition to this post Jaded.

Good healing makes all the difference when things get on the rougher side.  Watching Ely in action in some nasty places shows how strong furies can be.

We had a great mayhem session in …. mmm whats the name of that orc citadel in the Orc Wastes…?  Anyhow, we had Cragsclaw, Phe (new name for Catastrophy), Zurgg and Ragnac.  The mentoring down of high levels takes some of the challenge out of it, but its still good fun and took a bit of effort too.

I'm always up for those sessions so please yell out of post some planned / desired dungeons and I'd gladly come along.  I'd like to do more of the raid content for those levels when we can as well.

Team Death can always use additional members Laugh  Btw, a shaman warding with furies HoTs is a great combo for tough stuff.
