Guild Rank & Promotion
Created on September 8th, 2009 at 10:19pm

Please read this document carefully to ensure you understand the member ranks and promotion process.

Thrall (Recruit)

Thralls are the lowest-ranking members of the guild. Please read the Guild Charter for basic membership requirements.

These new recruits are held in a short probationary period to make sure they are a good fit with the rest of the guild. They should begin contributing to the guild as soon as they are able, to illustrate to the rest of the guild their willingness to pitch in. Contributions may take many forms: grouping, mentoring, crafting items for guildmates, completing writs (adventure or tradeskill),  depositing raw materials into our harvesting depot, depositing coin and/or status into the guild hall escrow, etc.

Commoner (Junior Member)

Commoners are Thralls that have passed their probationary period successfully and have begun contributing to the guild on a regular basis. They have greater access to certain guild hall amenities and the guild bank.

  • You must be at least level 20 (adventure or tradeskill level).
  • You must have been a Thrall in good standing for at least 2 weeks (or less, at an officer’s discretion).
  • You must have accrued at least 5,000 contributed status points (or less, at an officer’s discretion).

Warrior or Tradesman (Full Member)

Warriors and Tradesmen are full guild members with total access to all guild resources. The society you are promoted to depends on your highest level (adventuring or tradeskill) at the time of promotion.

  • You must be at least level 25 (adventure or tradeskill level).
  • You must have been a Commoner in good standing for at least 4 weeks (or less, at an officer’s discretion).
  • You must have accrued at least 50,000 contributed status points (or less, at an officer’s discretion).

Champion (Senior Member)

Champions are selected at the officers’ discretion. This special rank is attained only by the characters that have shown exceptional loyalty and generosity in their contributions to the guild and its members.

Thane (Officer)

Thane promotions are by invitation only. They are chosen from among the Society members and Champions by a majority vote among the Council. Thanes are granted a moderate degree of power within the guild, but they are also expected to maintain a moderate degree of responsibility. If you meet the criteria below, you may find yourself invited to be a Thane:

  • You must be active in the guild as well as in the game (i.e., you must play often and interact well with guildmates; you don’t have to be popular, you just have to be friendly).
  • You should be willing to accept any responsibilities assigned you by the Council; likewise, you must notify the Council if you will be unable to fulfill your duties.

Council Elder (Senior Officer)

Council Elder promotions are by invitation only. They are chosen from among the Thanes by a unanimous vote among the Council. Council Elders are granted a high degree of power within the guild, but they are also expected to maintain a high degree of responsibility.

Drighten (Guild Leader)

Drightens are responsible for guild administration and guidance. They ensure all guild members have everything they need to enjoy the game. They ensure the guild hall is kept in working order and are tasked with maintaining the guild’s activity and prosperity.
