Halasian Empire
Home      Forums      Calendar      Downloads      Roster      About Us

We’re on the road to collecting enough status in our guild hall escrow account to buy two new depot amenities: the Collection depot and the Lore & Legend depot!

Deposits can be made at the door to our guild hall:
Maj’Dul server > South Qeynos > Halasian Empire

Simply right-click on the front door from within the guild hall, click “Access,” and then select the “Deposit” tab. Use the button at the bottom of the window to deposit your desired status donation amount.

Thanks for helping us reach our goal of 20 10 million status!!

EDIT (5 Feb 2016): Some amenity prices have been reduced! The depots we’re aiming for are now 5 million apiece to purchase.

It’s time for EQ2’s ninth (NINTH!) expansion Chains of Eternity is landing on the live servers tomorrow, so here are the requisite links to more info to keep you informed during the downtime and as you begin to venture into the new content.

The main talking points are thus:

  • All level caps raised from 92 to 95
  • 2 new overland zones
  • Several new solo & group dungeons
  • A few new raids
  • Quest feather color-coding
  • Tradeskill prestige abilities

I’ll post more info as it’s available, and the game update notes will be shared here as soon as possible. :)

It’s been an exciting day for EQ2 players and other SOE gamers.

First, the next EQ2 expansion has been announced: Chains of Eternity! Release is slated for November, which is just around the corner, so keep an eye out for prelude events, beta signups, and more details about the expansion itself in the coming weeks. Meanwhile, check out these articles for more info:

Second, SOE has announced a new program called Player Studio. It will basically allow players of supported SOE games to create content that could be put up for sale in the Marketplace — and the player that created the item gets a cut of the profit! Learn more about this innovative program here:

The Destiny of Velious saga continues as adventurers breach the barriers of the Withered Lands seeking entrance to Skyshrine, the glorious ancient dragon city!

The great citadel of Skyshrine has long housed the Claws of Veeshan dragons behind its massive walls and arcane protections. Now, the unthinkable has happened — it has become besieged by powerful forces. Battle and befriend dragons and their wurmkin in the forbidden city of Dracur. Explore the past to unravel mysterious events that transformed the formidable draconic city into a battlefield full of daunting challenges, fearful foes and unimaginable treasures!

Far below Skyshrine a different battle rages on. The Withered Lands, once known as the Wakening Land, was a majestic Plane of Growth-touched valley. Today it is oddly overgrown and overrun by a sickly magic. This strange corruption has touched and twisted many of the creatures that thrived here, including the legendary caretakers of the forest. Turned to a dark purpose, the caretakers cultivate the afflicted plants and animals. And deep in the creeping woods, chaotic storms drench the forest and singe the gnarled treetops where an angry dragon flies overhead!

Save the forest from corruption, aid the armies of Norrath in reaching Skyshrine, explore the intrigues of dragon kind and save their embattled city!

To reach the Withered Lands, please seek out the New Combine Griffon Tamer located at the Thurgadin Harbor in the Great Divide.

Destiny of Velious Content Updates Include: *

  • Level cap raised to 92
  • Withered Lands outdoor zone with over 100 quests and solo, small group, and raid content
  • Play YOUR way in Skyshrine instances with normal and Challenge group modes or choose to solo
  • Experience storyline events with Heroic Group and Raid endgame instances
  • Earn prestige abilities to build on the power of your character
  • All new tradeskill quests and items woven into the story arc
  • New Drake mounts

Age of Discovery Additions: **

  • Poet’s Palace Dungeon Maker theme and items
  • New Dungeon Maker adventurers
  • Tradeskill apprentices with new recipes (one Elite!)
  • One all new elite mercenary and three dragon golem ones
  • New creatures to tame for Beastlords

*Requires Destiny of Velious expansion
**Requires Age of Discovery expansion

I sold a crapton of status loot last night so I could dump status into the hall escrow, and I wasn’t even looking at the guild XP bar — BAM. Level 70!

In other news, Game Update 63: Skyshrine hits live servers tomorrow. Here’s a rundown of various previews and guides already floating around the interwebs:

EQ2Interface doesn’t have a UI comparison up yet, but I imagine it will be coming sometime today or tomorrow morning.

Stay tuned for downtime updates, and I’ll post the patch notes as soon as they’re available!

Update #1: ZAM has posted that the downtime is expected to last 5 hours, beginning at 7am Pacific tomorrow morning.

Update #2: The servers are up and Skyshrine is live! Patch notes incoming momentarily… Enjoy!

Boston, ahoy! #PAXETU12

This weekend is PAX East 2012, and vast hordes of Empire members will be flooding the streets of Boston and causing all manner of civil unrest!!

Ok, actually, several of us are going to be at the PAX East 2012 Tweetup, hanging in the Westin Waterfront hotel lobby — unless we get shunted elsewhere — with other Tweeps, laughing our butts off and generally having a grand old time. Last year was a bit shaky, location- and coordination-wise, but still quite a hoot, and it was really nice to put faces with names (or names and faces with aliases, as it were).

As it stands now, Peter (Aethgar, Riowa, Raffe, et al) and I will be there, as will Chris (Scopique) and Allen (Lyriana). Of course, other Tweeps will be along as well, and you may finally be able to meet at least a few of the people who know what you had for lunch yesterday and would be able to pick your pet out of a lineup. :)

Hang in there! There were apparently some unexpected issues while implementing all of the new features and updates, and the servers will be offline for a while longer. You can get updates in the following locations:

In the meantime, check out the latest Producer’s Letter for some tasty tidbits while you wait!

Update: Smokejumper posted on Twitter that the game should be online at 10:00am Pacific, and SOE’s CTO posted this on the EQ2Wire site.

Update #2: The servers are up as of about 10:15am Pacific! Have fun!! :D

[Check out the official GU blurb from the forums!]

Age of Discovery is the eighth expansion of the groundbreaking EverQuest II franchise.  Age of Discovery offers never-seen-before features including user-generated content and the re-imagining of the Beastlord class from the original EverQuest release.  You can make your mark in-game by creating your very own Dungeon, hire some much needed help for your heroic battles, push tradeskilling research to new heights, customize your weapons at the forge, and of course, play as a Beastlord. There’s a lot to like about this expansion!

EverQuest II’s eighth expansion — Age of Discovery — is arriving tomorrow, and there are other big changes coming to the game that aren’t part of the expansion.

Probably the biggest non-expansion news is that EQ2 is going free-to-play, and the EQ2X  and subscription EQ2 services are merging. This doesn’t necessarily mean that the way you play the game will change: You can keep paying a monthly fee to continue accessing the game and its features as you always have, or you can go with a free account and keep playing the game whenever you like (albeit at reduced capabilities, such as item, class, and race limitations). You can find more answers about the F2P changes here.

Another big announcement is the arrival of the biggest yearly festival in all of Norrath: Frostfell! As of this posting, it will run from December 6 through January 6 (subject to change, of course), and this year’s celebration brings new quests, new rewards, and new craftable items. EQ2 Traders has its usual superb write-ups here, and ZAM has updated their Frostfell hub as well.

And now to the expansion! The biggest bullet points are:

  • Beastlords
  • Mercenaries
  • Tradeskill Apprentices
  • Freeport Revamp
  • Dungeon Maker
  • Reforging
  • EQ2 Share — post to Twitter & Facebook from in-game!

I’ll post the full patch notes here as soon as they’re available, but in the meantime, check out ZAM’s AoD info hub as well as EQ2 Traders’ preliminary AoD write-up.

This post from Cyliena over at ZAM sums everything up nicely:

All servers will come down at 12:01am PST on Tuesday, December 6, 2011 for the Age of Discovery and Game Update 62 patch. Estimated downtime is currently 12 hours; U.S. servers are anticipated to come back online around 12:00pm PST (noon). Due to the volume of data involved, international servers will experience extended downtime. When patch notes are available we will put them on our Game Update 62 page.

In addition, SOE account management and commerce services will be offline for all games during the transition period. Forums may also experience periodic outages. Remember that the EQ2X forums will be locked tomorrow morning at 10:00am PST. All EQ2X forum users should take this time to register anew on the EQII forums; you can start posting there now!

Beginning at 8:00am PST there will be a live webcast, Countdown to the Age of Discovery, on TwitchTV. Various members of the EQII team will be interviewed on the webcast. It is expected to run until 9:45am PST.

A producer’s letter from Dave “Smokejumper” Georgeson is also expected tomorrow morning. We’ll keep you updated once that is available. In addition, the EverQuest2.com website is being relaunched into its new incarnation and should be available after the downtime. Pre-orders for Age of Discovery will remain open until 11:59pm PST tonight, December 5.

During the downtime you are welcome to join us in the #EQ2 channel of ZAM’s IRC chat. Feldon of EQ2Wire also has set up a ZAM IRC java applet that you can use.
